  • Founded in 1964 by Sir Cyril Taylor, the American Institute for Foreign Study (AIFS) is one of the oldest, largest and most respected cultural exchange organizations in the world. With global offices in 6 countries, AIFS organizes cultural exchange programs for more than 50,000 participants each year and has been committed for almost 50 years to cross-cultural exchange.

  • The academic program is designed in conjunction with Richmond, The American International University in London. The University is an independent, non-profit international university of liberal arts and professional studies. It is accredited by the Commission on Higher Education of the Middle States Association of Colleges and Schools.

  • Orientation Program: two weeks with an intensive preparatory program with staff and faculty to become familiar with the city of Rome, Italian language and Italian way of living to prepare you for the big city.

  • After Orientation, students continue studying Italian language and enroll in two or more other courses among those offered each semester.
    Attendance is mandatory. All courses are taught in English, with the exception of Italian language.
    The Study Center is entirely WiFi and AIFS - Richmond students have exclusive access to the study rooms, library and computer lab.
